The Day's Journey

06:00 AM: Departure from Cartagena.
07:30 AM: Arrival at the forest for a 3.5-hour trek (approx. 4–6 miles).
12:00 PM: Enjoy a typical local lunch.
01:00 PM: Begin the return trip to the city.

Mandatory Gear: For your safety, long pants and closed-toe shoes are strictly required to protect against thorns, insects, and uneven terrain.
Fitness Level: This hike involves uneven, rocky terrain and about 15 minutes of steep climbing. A moderate fitness level and good balance are required.
Age & Health: Children under 10 and pregnant women are not permitted due to the remote nature of the trail.
Sun & Insects: Bring sunscreen (non-sweet smelling preferred) and high-quality insect repellent.
Weather: Humidity is high. From May to November, expect potential rain; we can provide a poncho if you don't have a rain jacket.

While sightings are very frequent because this is their natural home, wildlife is unpredictable. Our local guides are experts at tracking their calls and movements to give you the best possible chance for an encounter.

• Is the trail difficult?

It is a moderate hike. While it doesn't require professional climbing, you should be comfortable walking for 3.5 hours on forest paths that may be muddy or rocky.
